This Policy explains how account deletion works on Aura Live — what you need to do first, what we remove, what we are required to keep, what happens to your tokens, gems, and creator earnings, and the timing of the process. It is part of the agreement between you and Aura Live, Inc.
This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Creator & Livestreaming Terms. Where this Policy and the Terms conflict, the Terms control.
1. Scope and Effect of Deletion
Deleting your Aura account is permanent. After the 30-day cancellation window described in Section 6, we cannot restore your profile, your content, your follow relationships, your gem balance, or any other account-tied data. Deletion does not release you from obligations you already owe — for example, tax obligations on cashouts you already received, or chargebacks in progress.
2. How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion from any of these places:
- Mobile app: Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. Two confirmation taps are required and you will be asked a reason.
- Web: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Email: privacy@auralive.tv from the email address associated with your account. Include your handle and the last four digits of the most recent payment method on the account if applicable.
We may ask you to complete an additional verification step (email link, SMS code, or re-authentication in the app) before processing a deletion to make sure the request came from you.
3. Before We Can Accept a Deletion Request
To keep the economy and the Platform's safety stack consistent, we will not immediately process a deletion if any of the following is true. You must resolve these before we can proceed.
- Creator payout in flight: a cashout that is pending, under review, or in transit to your bank must complete or be cancelled first.
- Active Stripe Connect obligations: outstanding tax filings, unresolved chargebacks, or required identity re-verification on the payout account must be cleared first.
- Open safety or moderation investigation: if your account is the subject of a report or a rule-enforcement review, deletion is paused until the review resolves.
- Family-leader role: if you lead a Family, you must transfer leadership to another member or disband the Family first.
- Active party or stream: end any live broadcast or party session you are in before requesting deletion.
- Legal hold: if we have been served with a subpoena, preservation request, or court order naming your account, deletion is paused until the hold is lifted.
If a fresh report about your account is filed during the 30-day window described in Section 6, we will pause processing until that report is reviewed.
4. Tokens, Gems, and Creator Earnings
Per our Terms of Service, tokens and gems are a limited, revocable license, not property. At deletion:
- Unused tokens are not refundable and are forfeit at deletion. Consider spending them first.
- Unredeemed gems are forfeit unless you complete a cashout before the deletion request. You cannot transfer gems to another account.
- Promotional or bonus balances are forfeit at deletion regardless of how they were earned.
- Pending cashouts must complete, be cancelled, or be reversed before we can finalize the deletion (see Section 3).
Gems earned in a way that violated the Terms, Creator Terms, or Community Guidelines are ineligible for payout and are forfeit at deletion, whether or not a cashout was requested.
5. What Is Deleted
Subject to the retention carve-outs in Section 7, deleting your account permanently removes or anonymizes:
- Your profile, handle, display name, bio, avatar, and banner.
- Posts, photos, videos, stories, and memories you created.
- Livestream recordings published under your account.
- Direct messages you sent (we do not retroactively delete copies of messages already delivered to other users, but your identity on those messages is anonymized to “Deleted user”).
- Livestream and party chat messages you authored.
- Follow, follower, and block relationships.
- Gift history (sent and received) is anonymized on your side.
- Tokens and gems (forfeit per Section 4; balance records may be retained for tax and audit purposes).
- Device tokens, push-notification subscriptions, and sessions.
- Stored cosmetics, family memberships, and in-app preferences.
6. Timing and the 30-Day Cancellation Window
When we accept a deletion request, your account enters a 30-day cancellation window. During this window:
- Your profile and content are hidden from other users and removed from search.
- Sign-in is disabled; if you need to cancel the request, contact privacy@auralive.tv from the same email within 30 days.
- No new content is accepted, no new tokens can be purchased, and no gifts can be sent or received.
At the end of the 30-day window, deletion is finalized and cannot be reversed. You will need a brand-new account to return to Aura; we will not re-create the prior account.
7. What We Retain After Deletion
We retain some records even after an account is deleted, for as long as we have a legal or legitimate business reason to do so. These records are not visible to other users and are not used to recreate your profile:
- Payment, payout, and tax records retained at least 7 years to comply with tax, AML, and financial-record laws.
- Identity-verification records for creators retained as required by KYC and tax laws, typically 7 years.
- Moderation and abuse records retained to enforce the Terms against ban evasion and repeat violations, typically 3 years (longer for serious violations).
- Ban-evasion signals for accounts terminated for violations — device identifiers, hashed email, hashed payment method — retained to block the same person from creating a new account.
- Transactional correspondence (support tickets, chargebacks, dispute threads) retained as long as needed to resolve the matter and prevent recurrence.
- Legal-hold material retained for the duration of the hold.
- Aggregated and de-identified data retained without time limit; this data cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
- Backup snapshots may contain deleted data until they roll off our normal backup rotation (up to 90 days).
8. Data from Other Users That Mentions You
Other users' content that references you (for example, a message a friend sent you, or a post that tagged you) belongs to the other user. We will replace your identifiers in those places with “Deleted user” but we will not delete another user's post on your behalf unless the content violates our rules. If you believe other-user content about you should be removed for an independent reason (doxxing, harassment, leaked images), report it under the Community Guidelines.
9. Deletion Under Privacy Laws
Residents of the EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with statutory deletion rights may also exercise those rights at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the specific rights and how to request them. In most cases those rights lead to the same process described here; in some cases law requires us to act faster or to preserve more data — where law and this Policy conflict, law controls.
10. Banned Accounts
If your account has been banned for a severe violation, deletion follows the same general flow but with two differences: we retain ban-evasion signals (Section 7) to prevent you from creating a new account, and gem and token balances are forfeit to the Platform immediately rather than after the 30-day window.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
12. Questions
Contact privacy@auralive.tv for any question about deletion or about data retained after deletion.
